Text | Virginia Ruth Thompson, 74, passed away Sunday, Janaury 20, 2002 at Ray County, Memorial Hospital, Richmond, Missouri. She was born May 12, 1927 in Dallas County, Missouri the daughter of Charley Everett and Flora Alice Williams Smith. She attended Dallas County, Missouri schools. Virginia was employed with Banquet Foods in Marshall, Missouri. She retired in 1992 from the Marshall Rehabilitaion Center, Marshall, Missouri after fifteen years of service as a Developmental Assistant II. She was a member of the Assembly of God, Dallas County, Missouri. Virginia was married Bill Smith of Dallas County, Missouri. There were five children born to this union. On July 10, 1955 she was married to Hebert Eugene (Gene) Thompson in Buffalo, Missouri. Two children were born to this union. He preceded her in death on June 5, 1996. Survivors include five sons, Jackie Ervin Smith, Branch, Missouri, Charles Harlan (Toddy) Smith, Waubleau, Missouri, William Everett Smith, Kirbyville, Missouri, Melven Eugene Thompson, Norborne, Missouri, Roy Leslie Thompson, of the home; one daughter, Carolyn Sue Smith Webster, Warsaw, Missouri; two sisters, Doris Dampier, Cross Timbers, Missouri and Bonnie Faye Junkins, Buffalo, Missouri; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Billy Smith, one infant son, Jerry Wayen Smith, and one granddaughter, Amanda Sue Castle. (Billy Burgess' notes) | |
