    Freda Joyce Payne (nee Taylor), age 83, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 31, 2022.

    Freda enjoyed sewing dance costumes for the entire family, playing BINGO but most of all spending time with her family. She always looked forward to family reunions, high school reunions, holiday get togethers and going out to dinner. Red Lobster was always the first choice when dinner plans were made. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who will be truly missed.

    Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe Payne (2020); parents, Lysander and Alberta (nee Gross) Taylor; daughter-in-law, Donna Payne; siblings, Katy Gum, Geraldine (Bucky) Shroyer, Sharon Harper and Charles Taylor.

    Interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.

    Sharon Christine Harper, 65, of Noble, died at 2:25 p.m. Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.

    Arrangements are incomplete at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney. Burial will be in Crest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery in rural Claremont.

    Mrs. Harper was born January 24, 1945, in Scott County, Mo., the daughter of Lysander and Alberta (Gross) Taylor. She married Terry Harper on June 4, 1966. He survives.

    She retired from Champion Laboratories in Albion in January 2006.

    Mrs. Harper is survived by her husband, Terry Harper of Noble; son, Steve Harper and his wife, Tracy, of Vincennes, Ind.; daughter, Lori Ampole and her husband, George, of Noble; sister, Freda Payne and her husband, Joe of Joliet; sister, Katy Gum and her husband, Rod, of Rock Away Beach, Ore.; sister, Geraldine Shroyer, of Clay City; sister, Ann Lincoln, of Marble Hill, Mo.; sister, Sandy Kurtz, of Olney; grandchildren, Zachary Harper, Nathaniel Harper, Kaleb Harper, Jacob Jenner, Auston Stuart and Samantha Stuart; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Lysander and Alberta Taylor; stepfather, Bill Combs; brother, Charles Lysander Taylor Jr.; and brothers-in-law, Bucky Shroyer and Garry Lincoln.

    Charles Lysander Taylor Jr., 33, Noble, died at his home Thursday. A heart attack has been listed as the unofficial cause of death. Services were held Sunday at the Cardascio Funeral Home in Noble. Burial is Crest Haven Memorial Park, Claremont, Il.

    Mr. Taylor was born in Olney on Nov. 24, 1946 to Charles and Alberta (Gross) Taylor Sr. He married Regina Joyce Overton on June 6, 1970 in Shawneetown. She survives. He was a member of the Noble Christian Church and the Noble Fire Department.

    Other survivors include a son, Monty R. and a daughter, Gina M., both at home: six sisters, Mrs. Freda Payne of Joliet, Kathaerine Gum of Salem, Ore., Sharon Harper of Noble, Geraldine Shroyer of Sailor Springs, Ann Lincoln of Lutesville, Mo., and Sandra Kurtz of Flora: and his mother, Alberta Combs of Seminary.

    He was preceded in death by his father.
