    Notes:

    ODESSA-- Norman N. Hesser, 78, of Odessa passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born July 23, 1923, in Bennett. He married Lois Holman on Aug. 7, 1942, in California.

    Mr. Hesser moved to Odessa in 1949 from Illinois. He was Vice President of Trico Industries. He was an Air Force Veteran, a 55-year life member of the Masonic Lodge, Noble in the El Maida Temple in El Paso and 50-year member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. He served on the YMCA board. He was a member and Committee Chairman of the Permian Basin Oil Show and member of the Odessa Country Club. He was an Elder in the Presbyterian Church.

    He is survived by his wife, Lois Hesser of Odessa; daughter, Sherry Douglas and husband Scott of Dallas; sister, Barbara Workman of Cottage Hills, Ill.; and two grandchildren, Sarah and Bradley Dale.

    Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. today, May 18, 2002, at Westminster Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Cheryl Homsher officiating.

    Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Westminster Presbyterian Church.

    Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

    Military Service:
    Entered active service as a draftee on January 2, 1943 at Fort MacCarthur, California. Selected for the Air Corps, completed basic training and qualified in the military occupational specialty of Clerk Typist (405). Attend 68 weeks of service scchools including Radar, Radio, Armorer, Decontamination and Clerk Typist. Assigned to and served with the 398th Fighter Squadron, 396th Fighter Group engaged in air defense of the west coast. Earned the Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal and WWII Victory Medal. Honorably discharged as a Sergeant on February 19, 1946 at the Separation Center, Camp Grant, Illinois
