Davis, 100, of Flora died 9:32 p.m. Thursday (Oct. 2, 2003) in Clay County Hospital, Flora. Mrs. Davis was born Aug. 9, 1903, in Parkersburg, the daughter of Emery Clay and Mamie Reynolds Compton. She married John Davis on April 29, 1922, in Flora. He preceded her in death July 1956. She was a member of Flora Eagles, Flora Moose, Flora American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Flora VFW Ladies Auxiliary and was a Gold Star Mother. Surviving are her sons, Richard Davis and wife Sharon; George Davis and wife Rilda; John Davis and wife Ada; Gary Davis and wife Darlene; daughters, Mamie Jo Brown; Priscilla Erickson and husband Kenney; sister, Lavern Helt; 28 grandchildren; one step grandchild; 49 great-grandchildren; 13 great-stepgrandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; four great-great-step-grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents, husband, two sons, two daughters, four brothers and three sisters. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Frank & Bright Funeral Home, Flora, with the Rev. Jay Keele officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Flora.
