- Georgia R. Dale, 86, of Taylorville, and formerly of Olney, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, March 13, 2010, at Meadow Manor Nursing Home in Taylorville. She was a long-time resident of Olney.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturday at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney. Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Jim Corrona officiating. Burial will be in Henson Cemetery in Xenia.
Mrs. Dale was born April 28, 1923, in Xenia, the daughter of Loren and Edna (Pennington) Henson. She was one of 10 children. She married William M. Dale. He preceded her in death in 1977.
She was a retired business co-owner and operator, along with her husband, Bill Dale, of Dale Printing and Office Supplies. She was known for her warm smile and friendliness to customers young and old. She was a longtime faithful member of Elm Street Christian Church. She taught Sunday School classes in her earlier years there.
Mrs. Dale is survived by her daughter, Augusta "Gussy" Dale Corrona and husband, Jim, of Decatur; daughter-in-law, Lucinda Dale, of Houston, Texas; niece, Lee Meador Eddings, of Carbondale; five grandchildren, Kristy Dale Billings and David Dale, both of Houston, Texas; Andrea Corrona Jenkins, of Portland, Ore.; Nathan Corrona, of Atlanta, Ga.; and Von Corrona, of New York City, N.Y.; sister-in-law, Sally Dale, of Olney; brother-in-law, Jim Dale and his wife, Martha of Fayetteville, Ark.; nephews, James Dale, of Arkansas, and Joe Hunt, of Olney; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Loren and Edna (Pennington) Henson; husband, William M. Dale; son, Pete; and nine siblings.
