- Mrs. Paul (Barbara Anne) Mulvey, 60, of Newton passed away at 11:35 p.m. Monday, May 21, 2012, at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Crain Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ron Mulvey officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today, May 24, at the funeral home. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery, Newton. Memorial gifts in memory of Barbara may be made to Gift of Hope.
Barbara was born on July 5, 1951, in Butler, Pa., the daughter of Ted and Jean (Johnston) Barnhart. On Sept. 4, 1971, Barbara married Paul Mulvey. He survives.
She was a substance abuse counselor for Heartland Human Services, Effingham. Barbara was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to read, as it was said she had read through Newton Public Library. She was a giving person in life and even in death as she chose to be an organ donor.
She will be loved and remembered by her husband, Paul Mulvey; sons, Michael Mulvey, wife Jodi and Matthew Mulvey, wife, Nichole; daughters, Teresa Mulvey and Laura Mulvey; five grandchildren, Mason, Avery and Hayden Mulvey and Chance and Hailey Mulvey; brothers, Ted Barnhart, wife, Deborah and Tim Barnhart, wife, Patti; sister, Sanna DeKovessey, husband, Chas. and many nieces and nephews.
Her parents preceded her in death.
