- M. Henry Strange, 93, Flora, died at 2:33 a.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2004, at Clay County Hospital in Fairfield.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bunker Cemetery in Rinard.
Mr. Strange was born on November 5, 1910, in Clay County, the son of Silas Henry and Mary Elizabeth "Mamie" (Weir) Strange. He married Lou Veda Lewis on July 21, 1935, in Eldorado. She preceded him in death on March 2, 2001.
He was a machinist for Eaton Automotive for 25 years before retiring in 1973 and had been farming since then. He was a member of Bloom Baptist Church in Flora.
Mr. Strange is survived by a daughter, Martha A. Pearce and her husband, Charles E. "Chuck" III, of Flora; five grandchildren, Tammy Haven and her husband, Kenneth, of Flora, Alex Pearce and his wife, Dionne, of Freeburg, Jesse Pearoe and his wife, Carole, of Clarksville, Samantha Pearce, of Champaign, and Amanda Pearce, of Mattoon; six great-grandchildren, Danielle, Adrianne, Landon, Ryan, Erica and Eliza; and two sisters-in-law, Gladys Strange, of Fairfield, and Bernice Strange, of Flora.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, six brothers and five sisters.
Memorials may be made to Flora Public Library.
