- Alonzo "Lon" Williams, the son of Nathan and Melissa (Eagle) Williams, was born in Clay County, Illinois, January 30, 1866. He passed away at 4:10 a.m., September 6, 1943 in the Olney sanitarium.
Funeral services were held at the Sailor Springs Christian church and burial was at Smith Cemetery.
He was married to Maggie Jane Clark, December 13, 1898. They had three children, Virgil Dale of Salem, IL, Maurice Clark of Olney, IL and Ella Rea of Clay City, IL.
He was survived by his wife, Maggie, three children, three grandchildren, namely, Billy Weber West of Noble, Beverly Jane and Larry Gene Williams of Olney; two brothers, C.M. Williams of Lincoln, IL and John M. Williams of Hot Springs, AR and many nephews, nieces, distant relatives and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by four grandchildren, six brothers and two sisters.
