  John Lewis Abbott. 77, for many years a resident of Noble township, died Sunday evening at the Burgin No. 1 Nursing Home after a long period in poor health. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Noble Funeral Home with Brother Gene Everett in charge. Burial will be in Hanna Cemetery, northwest of Noble. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Tuesday. Mr. Abbott was born west of Noble, son of the late Charles J. and Caroline Patterson Abbott. He followed farming west of Noble for a number of years. He served in the U.S. Army in World WI. He was a member of the Glenwood church and the Noble American Legion Post. His wife Helen preceded him in death. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Clora Patterson of Noble and Mrs Esther Dannels. Information was retrieved from Olney (IL) Daily Mail, June 29, 1970 edition.
