Served with the 2nd Aircraft Repair Unit (Floating), 20th Air Force in the Western Pacific and in ground combat. Earned the Meritorious Unit Award, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with 2 bronze battle stars, WWII Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant on November 25, 1945 at Camp Grant, Illinois.
