    Jesse Ryker, Jr., 64, Noble, died December 11, 1989 at Burgin Manor, Olney.

    Mr. Ryker was born March 14, 1925, in Clay City, the son of Jesse and Lucy Wease Ryker, Sr. He married Dorothea Davis, Feb. 21, 1948 in clay City and she survives.

    He was a retired woodworker, a member of Clay City Baptist Church, a World War II veteran and a member of the Olney American Legion.

    Surviving are his wife, Dorothea; six sons, David, Douglas, Donald, Doran, Lee, Darren; five daughters, Diane Barrett, Donna Kirts, Mylene Earp, Deanna Kuhl, Frances Richey; and 18 grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by his parents.

    Private services were held at Hosselton, Bookhout, Engelmeir Funeral Home with burial in the Clay City Cemetery.

    Memorials may be made to the Clay City Baptist Church Building Fund.

    Entered active service on july 6, 1942. Completed boot camp at Naval Training Station, Great Lakes, Illinois. Assigned to or served aboard, in turn, the Brooklyn-Class Light Cruiser USS Savannah CL-42, the Battleship USS Iowa BB-61, the Edsall-CClass Destroyer USS Sturtevant DD-239, and Naval Supply Depot, Navy 926 (Guam, Mariana Islands). Honorably discharged as a Seaman First Class on February 27, 1946 at the Naval Personnel Separation Center, Great Lakes. Earned The American Campaign Medal. European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, and The WWII Victory Medal.

    He was born Nov. 22, 1933, in Knox County, Ind., to Edward Clarence and Viola Grace Tucker Holcomb and died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006, in Enid. He was raised and graduated high school in Clay City, Ill. He joined the Navy, serving four years during the Korean War. Following his discharge, he married Donna Lindeman. He later married Donna Wanhala Sept. 3, 1964. They lived in the Carmen area 32 years. He was a self-employed carpenter. He also had worked in the oil field. He was a member of Carmen American Legion. Surviving are his wife, oen daughter, Rhonda & Lee Ryker of Illinois, two brothers, Bobby & Ruth Holcomb of Illinois and Edward Holcomb of Lahoma, Ok., two sisters, Bonnie & Bob Roe of Salem, Illinois and Betty Thomas of Lahoma, Ok., three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Art and Fred Holcomb, and two sisters, Cherrie McCaig and Inez Newman.
    He was cremated.

    Donna’s warm spirit and strong faith is carried on through the adoring and supportive relationships she had with her family and friends, and especially her grandchildren and later, her great-grandchildren, who affectionately called her "Ina." When her grandkids took part in a sporting event or activity, they could count on her attendance and wholehearted encouragement and lively participation. She had worked in clerical and stenography positions, including for JW Rudy, and confirmed that you should never stop learning throughout life when she enrolled in an associate degree program in cosmetology and celebrated both a graduation and her 60th birthday.

    Donna was a member of the Clay City First Baptist Church where she served as longtime Sunday School teacher for youth and adults, and as Clerk and Treasurer. She was an accomplished bowler and enjoyed fishing, and liked to visit new places, serving as a travel guide for B-Jay Travel and JD Transit.

    Services will be in the Sailor Springs Christian Church with Rev. Barry Sikes presiding.

    Visitation will be in the Summers Funeral Home and from before the services at the church. Burial will be in Dillman Cemetery at Sailor Springs.

    Mrs. Lindeman was born May 22, 1918, in Clay County, the daughter of Billie and Edna (Fitzgerald) Prosser. She married Alvie Lindeman Qct. 18, 1933 he survives.

    She was an employee of Spieth Studio until May 1981. She was a member of Sailor Springs Christian Church, and the American Legion Auxiliary in Olney.

    Other survivors include a son, Dennis Lindeman, Clay City; a daughter, Donna Ward, Clay City; a brother, Luther Prosser, Sailor Springs; a brother-in-law Ellis Lindeman who lived with the Lindemans; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandchild; two infant brothers and a half-brother.
