    Doris Jeanne Louise Leesman, 55, of Decatur, Illinois, passed away January 5, 2024, in her home.

    Doris was born in Decatur on July 7, 1968, the daughter of Everette and Barbara (Mears) Shingleton. She was a home health care worker. In her free time, she was an avid gamer and twitch streamer. She was an accomplished artist. She enjoyed fishing and family time, especially with her grandchildren.

    Doris is survived by her mother Barbara Maglone; children Elizabeth Stanley of Decatur, James Stanley of Decatur, and Ronnie (Ashley Fontes) Leesman of Blue Mound; siblings Oscar (Kalee) Shingleton of Decatur and Everette Shingleton II of Oklahoma; grandchildren Rose Ziemer, Logan Maple, Brienne Maple, Madalyn Scales, and Ashton Leesman; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.

    Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home is providing cremation services for Doris. A memorial service will be held later. Memorials may be directed to DMH Cancer Care or to the family.

    Mr. Mears was born March 7, 1920, in Kenney, a son of Ray S. and Opal Walters Mears. He married Jean Bertrang Oct. 27, 1945 in Mount Pulaski. She survives. He moved to Decatur from Lincoln 20 years ago.

    He was a truck driver for Purity Baking Co. He served with the Army in World War II. He was affiliated with St. Paul's United Methodist Church and Kenney American Legion Post.

    Mr. Mears leaves his mother, Mrs. Opal Mears, Linton; four daughters, Mrs. Everett (Barbara) Shingleton and Mrs. William (Gloria) Reynolds, both of Decatur, and donna Lynn and Penni Sue at home; four sons, William James, Dale Ray, Roger Kent and Glen Allen, all at home; three sisters, Mrs. Kermit (Eva) Wright, Warrensburg; Mrs. Viola Anderson and Mrs. William (Sharon) Stephenson, both of Clinton; a brother, Eldon Mears, Decatur; and one grandson.
