    Vincennes Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon Logan B. Boyd, D.D.S. died at home Friday
    April 1, 2011, at 12:40 a.m.

    Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. today at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway,
    Vincennes, Ind. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Reverend
    George Ford officiating.

    Dr. Boyd was born April 16,1935, in West Baden Springs, Ind., the son of the late Jane Ballard Abel
    and Leo Boyd and the stepson of Paul F. Abel.

    He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and the recipient of many commendations and campaign
    ribbons. He was a graduate of West Baden High School, Indiana University, Indiana University School of Den-
    tistry, Boston University School of Medicine and received his surgery training in the hospitals of both Boston and Harvard University with an anesthesiology residency served in Marion County General Hospital, now
    known as Wishard Memorial. He began Surgery practice in Vincennes, Ind., on August 30,1969, and retired from private practice in 2007- He was past president of the Medical Staff, Department Chair of Surgery and Chairman of the Dental Division of Good Samaritan Hospital. His memberships include American College of
    Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology and American Dental Association. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Elks Lodge 291, American Legion, National Rifle Association, a life member of the Second Amendment Foundation, Vincennes Gun Club, a charter member of Quail Unlimited, Indiana Historical Society and American Civil War Foundation, National Wildflower Association and the Audubon Society.
    His interests include educational philanthropy, farming and gardening. He also was an avid fisher-
    man.

    Dr. Boyd is survived by his long-time companion, Janine M. Curry; stepson, Jason Curry; stepdaughter, Medea Peabody and her husband, Rob, and grandson, Liam Peabody.

    In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Good Samaritan Foundation and Hospice. .
