    Stephen received his Bachelor"s Degree in Photography from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.

    From September 8, 1966 until September 16, 1968, he honorably served our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Warm. During his service, he proudly received two purple hearts, the bronze service star and numerous other decorations and commendations.

    For over 35 years, he was the owner of House of Nutrition, retiring in 2015. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Stephen was an avid reader and history buff.

    He enjoyed reading mystery novels. He liked to spend time traveling in his R.V., hiking and camping.

    Military Service:
    From September 8, 1966 until September 16, 1968, he honorably served our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Warm. During his service, he proudly received two purple hearts, the bronze service star and numerous other decorations and commendations.

    Stephen was humbled and honored knowing that Arlington National Cemetery was to be his final resting place.

Departed the Continental U.S. on February 19, 1942 bound for Iceland. Assigned to and served with the 6816th Staging Detachment. Honorably discharged as a Technician Fourth Class on July 1, 1945 at the Separation Center, Fort George G. Meade, Maryland. Earned the American Defense Service Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, and the WWII Victory Medal.

    Notes:

    Services and visitation for Mrs. Frank (Mary Gladys) Badger, 73, will be in the Cardascio-Easley Funeral Home, Clay City with burial in Clay City Cemetery.

    Mrs. Badger died at 2:30 a.m. Thursday at her home.

    She was born Nov. 26, 1902 in Mt. Erie to John and Luella Orr Holdren. She was married to William H. Pierce, who died in 1960. On June 1, 1963 in Clay City, she was married to Frank Badger. He survives.

    Other survivors include a son, William Pierce, Clay City; a daughter, Mrs. Carl (Maxine) Elliott, Herrin; step-sons, Earl Badger, Bush, Mich., Glenn Badger, Edmond, Okla., and Richard Badger, Robinson; a step-daughter, Mrs. D. J. (Bernice Ann) Ashley, Oklahoma; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; 11 step-grandchildren; and 10 step-great-grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lois I. Haught.
