Sara Gibbs, known as Sally, married at age 15 to Conrad Sharp. Their fathers were very good friends. She bore at least 9 children

When Johnn was 23 Baden began 7 yrs of vicious war. It is possible that he went to America to escape military service. Once on the frontier in N.C. he changed his name to John Nicholas Gibbs. Most likely he was a regulator and probably saw service in the patriot militia during the War of Independence.(see Henry H Sharp). For his military service he was awarded land in Tenn

Johann married Efland, Mary in 1764 in Orange County, North Carolina. Mary (daughter of Efland, Peter and ?, Catherine) was born in 1745 in Orange County, North Carolina; died in 1833 in Knox County, Tennessee. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Married at 19 she bore at least 9 children, raised them and kept a farm on the edge of the frontier 7 yrs of which was under attack by the Cherokee, She died aged 88 obviously a very resilent lady.

It is probable that Peter was a regulator(see Henry H Sharp). Tho 57 yrs old when in war of Independence began he would have been involved in fighting off Cherokee raids for the next 7 yrs. while younger men were away in the Militia.
