    Notes:

    Daniel Lee "D.A." McDannel, 46, of Flora, died at 6:56 a.m. Thursday, May 6, 2010 at Good Samaritan RHC in Mount. Vernon.

    He was born June 16, 1963 in Clay County, to Ray and Marion (Wyman) McDannel. He married Shari Norton and she preceded him in death.

    He worked as a roofer. He is survived by his father: Ray McDannel of Xenia; mother: Marion Wyman of Flora; daughter: Karissa McDannel of Clay City; maternal grandmother: Helen Wyman of Flora; brother: Doug McDannel of Kingston, Tenn.; two grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by his wife and three grandparents.

    A memorial service took place at 8 p.m., Monday, May 10, 2010 at Frank & Bright Funeral Home with visitation from 6 from 8 p.m. on Monday.
    Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Flora.
    Memorials may be made to the McDannel family.

    James E. "Jim" Norton, 62, of Louisville, IL, died December 28, 2005, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

    Mr. Norton was born October 16, 1943 in Clay City, the son of William Henry and Julia Ann Handley Norton. He married Lana K. Bryan November 4, 1967 in Clay City.

    He was employed for 32 years for the City of Flora Street Department.

    He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

    Survivors include his wife; a son, Jim Norton; a brother, Sam Norton; a sister, Jean Ann Foster; two granddaughters; and one great-grandson.

    Preceding him in death were his parents, a daughter, Shari, and two brothers, Alvis and Bill.

    Funeral services were held at Frank and Bright Funeral Home with burial in Clay City Cemetery.

    Lana K. Norton, age 73, of Clay City, formally of Flora passed away November 18, 2015 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.

    Lana was born to Burdette O. and Mildred (Feller) Bryan on November 02, 1942. She married James E. "Jim" Norton on November 4th, 1967 he passed away December 28th, 2005.

    Lana was very proud of her grandchildren and loved spending time with them. She enjoyed traveling, particularly her visits to Israel where she was re-baptized in the River Jordan. Lana also enjoyed her trips to the Smoky Mountains. Lana took pleasure in crocheting and was currently working on a project to complete princess headbands for the granddaughters. She took pride in Clay City Schools and the education they provided her grandchildren. Her favorite place to eat was Julian's Drive In.

    Lana is survived by her son, James Norton and wife Trisha; three granddaughters, Karissa "Kari" McDannel and husband Randall Redenbo, Kaylee Norton, and Elizabeth Norton; great grandson, Troy McDannel and great granddaughter, Dani Denton; Sister, Dianna Jacobs; Brother, Larry Bryan; Sisters-in-law, Jean Ann Foster and Laurine Norton, and several nieces and nephews.

    Lana is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Shari Norton-McDannel, infant brother, Jessie Ralph Bryan, and niece, Kanda Jacobs
