Text | Freda F. Hasler October 08, 1925 - March 11, 2006 Freda Fern Hasler Born October 8th, 1925 in rural Sumner, Illinois, the daughter of James Harvey and Minnine Scaggs Corrie. She graduated from Sumner High School class of 1942. She married Darrell Hasler on April 22nd, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri. He preceded her in death on April 2nd, 2005. She was employed in the Revenue Accounting Department of General Telephone Company for 18 years. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. As long as health permitted she was active in her church serving as a Sunday School Teacher, a member of the United Methodist Women and several boards and agencies of the United Methodist Church. She was President of the Southern IlIllinois Conference, a District Officer and President of the North Central Jurisdiction over nine states of United Methodist Women. She was elected to Women's Division Executive Committee and served for eight years on the National Division of the General Board of Global Ministries based in New York City. She was elected and served as a delegate to three General Conferences of the United Methodist Church. She also served on the Board of the United Methodist Village at Lawrenceville. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Darrell, a daughter Nancy Ellen Tabor, an infant son, Stephen Hasler, a twin brother, Freeman Vern Corrie, and a half sister Irene Hannel. She is survived by two grandaughters, Jamie Rivera and Teri Talach and six greatgrandsons, Joshua and Tyler Middleton, Tristan, Jerod, Toby and Noah Rivera, several nieces and nephews and great-grandnieces and nephews.
