Text | Mrs. Catharine HASLER, widow of Casper HASLER, died at her home in Taylor township, March 14, 1897, after an illness of five weeks. Her maiden name was Catharine MOSER. She was born in France, Dec. 25, 1816. She was sprinkled in infancy, under the ritual of the Southern church, becoming a member of that body at the age of sixteen years. She was married to Casper HASLER, April 19, 1837 in Switzerland, her husband preceding her to America one year in search of a home to which she came in 1850, making the long and tiresome journey with seven small children and no one to help her in any way. She was a stranger in at strange land, but the Lord was with her and she got through all right. Her life in America was spent at the resididence where she died, having raised a family of fourteen children, six of whom are living. Her married life was a long and happy one, her constant effort being for the comfort and welfare of her family. Her husband preceded her over the river of death twelve years. During her last sickness she bore her affliction in patience, often expressing her resignation to death. She was eighty years, two months and nineteen days old. | |
