He worked at the Texaco Refinery for 28 years as a safety supervisor. He graduated from St. Louis School of Embalming and worked at the Sumner and Flat Rock funeral homes. He also worked at the Marathon Oil Company.
His memberships included the Union Chapel Church, the Elks, Veteran of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Masonic Lodge and was a 50-year member of the Lawrence County Country Club.
