  • Notes
    • He was what many called a recluse, but actually the term doesn't fit him as he was one who prefers to stay at home, where he cared for his elderly father.

Columbus Fulk never saw a picture show, carnival or circus, or even a concrete highway. His only means of keeping in touch with the outside world was his avid tendency of reading the newspapers and communicating with his family members. He was actually one of 12 children, seven boys and five girls.

Columbus was said to be an accomplished musician having taught himself as well as learning from his father. He was also reported to have been a fine watch repairman.

(The above information was from a story many years ago in Grit magazine dated around 1936)

In fact he did get away from home because at the time of his death he was living at Burgin Manor in Olney.
