- Entered active service on February 27, 1945. Completed boot camp at Naval Training Station, Great Lakes, Illinois. Assigned to and served at Naval Air Station, Ottumwa, Iowa. Honorably discharged as a Seaman First Class on March 23, 1946 at the Naval Personnel Separation Center, Great Lakes, Illinois. Earned the American Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal for service during the periods of eligibility.
