Notes - Doran E. "Pete" Ryker, 67 of Lake City, passed away on Monday, April 19, 2021, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lake City. Mr. Ryker was born the 4th of 11 children, to the late Jesse Eugene Ryker, Jr. and Dorthea Marie Davis Ryker, in Flora, Illinois. Pete had made his home in Lake City for the past four years having previously lived in Dallas, Texas and numerous other cities. Mr. Ryker was an accomplished aircraft mechanic with 50 years of experience in aviation. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and man, who most would say, had the biggest heart, always wanting to help out others without expecting anything in return. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald E. "Donnie" Ryker.
Survivors include his two daughters, Dorylynn Sullivan, Helena, MT and Ayla Norris, Ft. Lupton, CO; four brothers, David Ryker (Shirley), Advance, MO, Paul D. "Doug" Ryker (Patricia), Branford, FL, Lee Ryker (Rhonda), Flora, IL and Darren Ryker, Lake City; five sisters, Diane Hilton (Matt), Columbus, OH, Donna Ryker, Olney, IL, Deena Ryker, Flora, IL, Mylene Ryker, Jacksonville, FL and Frances Dehner (Bill), Olney, IL; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
A memorial service will be conducted on Friday, April 30, 2021 at 3:00 PM in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with his brother, Mr. Lee Ryker, officiating.
