  Prudence Gibson was born in Virginia April 17, 1800, the daughter of Nicholas and Lydia Gibson and died in Richland County, September 2, 1883. She was married to Rev. Peter Lough December 25, 1815. They came to Edwards County, Illinois about 1837 and then to Richland County. The following children were born: Charles B., Nicholas G., Lavernia, John C.
