- Biography
Freeda C. Vandever was born on September 17, 1924 in Edwards County, Illinois, the daughter of Henry Walker and Nellie (Tomblison). She married Harold Allen Vandever on July 23, 1943 in Parkersburg. Harold preceded her in death on June 2, 2013.
Freeda was a fun-loving person and the life of the party and everyone enjoyed her company. She enjoyed traveling and had been to Europe, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Bahamas. Freeda was a wonderful cook and champion noodle maker. She was a member of the Marion Christian Church and she enjoyed her career at Champion Laboratories in West Salem.
She is suvived by her Niece, Shirley McNeely and husband, Jack Calkin of Evansville, IN; Sister-in-law, Aileen Worthey of West Salem, IL; Nephew, Larry Marks of Salem, IL; and Nieces, Sandy, Linda, Mary Ann, and Kim.
Freeda was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Fern Garrett and Flossie Marks, nephews, Bernard Marks, Glenn Marks, and Ernie Marks, and niece, Terrie Marks.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Marion Christian Church.
