- Sammie D. Krutsinger, age 77, of Kerrville, Texas, formerly of Kinmundy, passed away Thursday, April 4th, 2013 at Kerrville, Texas. She worked at Bryan Manor in Salem for many years and was also a volunteer EMT in the Kinmundy area. Sammie loved to sing gospel songs and was a member of Brown Christian Church where she had many cherished friends. In 2004, she moved to Kerrville, Texas.
Funeral services for Sammie Krutsinger will be held Thursday, April 11 at 11:00 AM at Brown Christian Church, with Brother Rusty Courson officiating. Burial will follow at Elder Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 Wednesday at Neal Funeral Home in Kinmundy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Brown Christian Church, Kinmundy EMT's, or a charity of the donor's choice.
Survivors include her son Russell Krutsinger and wife Phebe of Flora; stepchildren, Garry Krutsinger and wife Pam of Vandalia, Norman Krutsinger and wife Cathy of Kerrville, Texas, and Dena Ruffin and husband Ricky of Humble, Texas; sister, Virginia Pennington; brothers, Bill Elwood and wife Sue and Terry Elwood of Salem; eleven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sammie D. Krutsinger was born in Stuart, Oklahoma on April 3, 1936 to Otis and Ova Elwood. With close ties to Texaco, her family followed the oil boom and moved to Salem early in her life. On November 8, 1965, Sammie married Harlas Krutsinger.
