  Harry Valetine O’Dell, age 88, of Flora and formerly of Louisville, passed away at 7:45 pm, Friday, December 20, 2024, at the Axiom Healthcare of Flora. Harry was born at their family home in rural Louisville on October 28, 1936, the son of Leland Valentine and Bessie Lucille (Abel) O’Dell. Harry spent most of his working life working with his father as a carpenter and later in life worked at Mike’s Market in Louisville. Harry was a quiet man that like the simple pleasures in life, just sitting around watching a good tv show or going out for car rides in the country taking in all of nature's beaty. Harry is survived by his siblings: Larry (Mary) O’Dell of Flora, Tom O’Dell of Louisville, Nancy Palmer of Anderson, Indiana, Connie Jones (Max McKinney) of Louisville; and he is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Harry was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Billy O’Dell, Donnie O’Dell, Jimmy “Cotton” O’Dell, Brenda Sue Hale, and Betty Willis. Memorial services to celebrate Harry’s life will be held at 1:30pm, Monday, December 30, 2024, at the McGriff Funeral Home in Louisville with Brent Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at the Orchard Hill Cemetery. A short visitation will be held on Monday at the funeral home from 1:00 to 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Harry’s memory to the Clay County Hospice.
