    • Mary Magdalene Krichbaum, 83, of West Salem, died at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Mt. Carmel Sunday April 14th.

      Services were held Wednesday in the Ingram Funeral Home in West Salem with Rev. Dan Howell presiding. Burial was in the Moravian Cemetery.

      Krichbaum was born Sept. 10, 1901, near Bone Gap, the daughter of Clarence McDowell and Eunice Greathouse.

      She graduated from high school in 1920.

      She was a member of the First Christian church in West Salem and a member of the Queen Esther Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star in Indianapolis. She worked for Harrison Motors in West Salem for 19 years and moved to Indianapolis where she was credit manager for the Block Department Store for 27 years. She then retired in 1966 and moved to West Salem.

      She was preceded in death by two sisters, Violet McDowell, who died June 23, 1952, and Elsie Clodfelter, who died on Feb. 11, 1975.

      She is survived by one aunt, Hattie Thread, of Mt. Carmel General Baptist Nursing Home.
