Notes - James L. Bushong of Bedford Township, father of Clayton Bushong, of near Fairfield, died in the Jackson hospital in Olney Thursday, 19 September, following several months illness with ailments incident to his advanced age. He was 79 years, 9 months, and 22 days of age. Funeral services were conducted at the Crippin Funeral Home in Cisne on Saturday afternoon by Elder W. D. Crippin. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery, in Fairfield. James Lincoln {Bushong}, son of Perry and Mary Jane Bushong, was born in Monroe County, Kentucky, 27th November 1866. In young manhood, he moved to Illinois and located near Mt. Erie. In 1898, he was united in marriage with Nellie McDowell and four children were born to this union, one of whom, Mary Etta Yohe, passed away in 1920. Surviving are two sons, Clayton, of Fairfield, and Joe, of Grayville; one daughter, Mrs. Ovella Cloninger of St. Louis, Missouri; one brother and three sisters; two grandchildren, Russel Yohe of Mt. Erie and Clayton Bushong Jr. of Fairfield.
