Ray was born on May 18, 1948 in Richland County, Illinois, the son of Charles F. Combs and Vivian M. (Bare). He married Linda Bailey on August 14, 1976 Olney, llinois. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Linda Combs of Dundas; Mother, Vivian Combs of Olney; Daughter, Tabitha Blanchard and husband Aaron of Cisne, IL; Daughter, Holly Berger and husband Jeremy of Noble; Grandchildren, Logan Berger, Jordan Berger, Natalie Berger, and Joshua Blanchard; Sister, Kay Novak and husband Don; Brother, Dale Combs and wife Shirley; Sister, Carolyn Iffert and husband Gene; Brother, Glenn Combs and wife Cindy; Sister-in-law, Susie Gill and husband Nelson; Brothers-in-law, Carl Brown and George Brown Sr.; and several nieces and nephews.
