- Lenard L. "Cy" Runyon was born July 13, 1926 in Noble, Illinois, the son of Harold Runyon and Della (Stanley).
He married Freda Schwartz on July 15, 1950 at Pleasant Ridge Church
Lenard was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the First Christian Church of Noble. He was a lifelong farmer and loved the outdoors, he also enjoyed watching professional wrestling on television. He enjoyed his family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. He always entertained the grandchildren with his life experiences using his own unique sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Freda Runyon of Noble; daughter, Diana Bryan and husband, Henry of Effingham, IL; son, Terry Runyon and wife, Rose of Noble, IL; son, Steve Runyon and wife, Janice of Olney; son, John Runyon of Noble, IL; daughter, Donna McGill and husband, Paul of House Springs, MO; son, Jeff Runyon and wife, Peggy of Noble, IL; 18 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren; brother, Robert L. Runyon and wife, Lela of Noble; sister, Evalena Brotherton of Taylorville, IL; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother, Donald Runyon, brother, Delbert Runyon, sisters, Alice Gifford and Bonnie McKnight, and great granddaughter, Reese Klingler.
