    • Lee R. Clark, 89, of Lee's Summit, Mo., and formerly a long-time resident of Olney, died Thursday, July 22, 2010, at St. Luke's East Hospital in Lee's Summit, Mo.

      Burial with full military rites will be in Haven Hill Memorial Garden in Olney.

      Mr. Clark was born July 9, 1921, at Carson, Iowa, the son of Raymond A. and Hazel Glathart. He married Delores (Nettleton) Clark.

      He was a veteran of World War II, serving in North Africa and Italy 1943-1945. He was a teacher and coach for East Richland School District at Claremont and Parkersburg. He ended his working career by retiring from Yellow Freight in 1986. After retirement he remained active at Immanuel United Methodist Church. He volunteered for Olney city boards and other community and school activities. He was proud to be selected as Olney's Man of the Year for outstanding volunteer service in 1990.

      Mr. Clark is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dolores Nettleton Clark, of Lee's Summit, Mo.; son, Phillip E. Clark and wife, Sandra Kay, of Lee's Summit, Mo.; sisters, Leoma Clark and Annabell Clark Britz, formerly of Noble and now living in Greenwood, Mo.; granddaughter, Kathryn Clark Dietzel, and husband, Andrew, of Omaha, Neb.; granddaughter, Karen Clark Pringle, and husband, Brian, of Olathe, Kan.; and great-grandchild, Jastin Pringle.

      He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Clark in 1990, mother, Hazel Clark in 1989, and a brother, Bill Clark in 2008.
