    • Glen Daniel Chaplin, 78, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., and formerly of Olney, died at 1:05 a.m. Monday, January 17, 2011, at Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

      Interment of cremains will be in Holy Cross Cemetery with full military rites performed by Olney veterans organizations.

      Mr. Chaplin was born November 7, 1932, in Claremont, the son of Stanley Otis and Mary Lydia (Fritschle) Chaplin.

      He married Theresa Herman on November 27, 1952. She preceded him in death on October 17, 2005.

      He was retired from General Telephone as a telephone technician. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was a member of Dundas Ruritan.

      Mr. Chaplin is survived by his daughter, Judi Seed and her husband, Mike, of Arnold, Mo.; son, Mike Chaplin and his wife, Sue, of Coatesville, Pa.; daughter, Susan Doubet and her husband, Steve, of Springfield; daughter, Kathy Borah and her husband, Chris, of St. Clair, Mo.; son, Rick Chaplin and his wife, Cathy, of Olney; daughter, Jan Stritzel and her husband, Andy, of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; son, Pat Chaplin and his wife, Bonnie, of Olney; daughter, Karen Breeding and her husband, Bryan, of Dundas; brother, Stanley Chaplin and his wife, Barbara, of Olney; sister, Louise McKelfresh and her husband, John, of St. Francisville; brother, Myrl Chaplin and his wife, Katherine, of Pesotum; sister, Esther Peck and her husband, Lawrence, of Williston, N.D.; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

      He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley Otis and Mary Lydia Chaplin; brother, Neal Lester; nephew, Neal Chaplin; and son-in-law, Scott Kessler.
