    • Aden was the first of seven known children born to Clark Boatman and Veturia Decker Boatman. He married Ruth Marie Craig 30 November 1922 in Richland Co, IL. They had nine known children including: Byron Leon, Mildred Marie, Lucille May, Harold Dale, Ivan, and Donald.One-car wreck fatal to Bridgeport man

      Tragedy marred the Fourth of July weekend locally with a fatal wreck Saturday afternoon on the eastern approach to the new bridge over the Embarras River
      east of Lawrenceville.

      Dead at the scene was Aden Boatman, 82, 1306 Ash St., Bridgeport.

      Born in Richland County, Ill., Sept. 24, 1894, he was a son of Clark and Veitura Decker Boatman. His wife, Ruth Craig Boatman, preceded him in death.

      His survivors include: three daughters, Mrs. Betty Graham of Bridgeport, Mrs. Carolyn
      Senters of Herrin, Ill., and Mrs. Rita Mae Larch of Litchfield, Ky.; three sons, Donald Boat
      man of Bridgeport, Ivan Boatman and Byron Boatman, both of Sycamore, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Ida Gerber of Rt. 3 Olney, Ill.; one brother, Roy Boatman of Bridgeport; 18 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

      Two daughters and one son preceded him in death.

      Mr. Boatman was a member of the First Christian Church in Bridgeport, a World War I
      veteran, and retired Texaco, Inc., employee.

      Funeral rites were conducted at 11:00 a.m. today from Cunningham-Nichols Funeral Home in Bridgeport with Harold Miles officiating. Interment was in Goss Cemetery, north of Claremont, Ill.
