- Funeral services for Abraham (Abe) Arthur Abbott, 86, lifelong resident of Homer, who died Friday evening at Champaign County Nursing Home, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Jeanes-Kirby Funeral Home in Homer. Allan McMillan will officiate. Burial will be in GAR Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. He was born March 8, 1878, at Homer, the son of John and Anna Wright Abbott. Mr. Abbott is survived by one sister, Mrs. Grace Bird, Decatur; one brother, Reuben Abbott, Walnut; and a half-brother, G. Benton Barnes, Danville.
