- William H. Combs, 75, Route 4, Olney, died at 5:10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, 1988, in Richland Memorial Hospital.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday in the Zirkle Funeral Home, with Rev. Art Ritchey presiding. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Parkersburg.
Mr. Combs was born March 20, 1988, in Richland County, the son of Tice and Ollie (Bradford) Combs. He married Elma Stremme in 1937 and she died March 27, 1966. He then married Alberta Gross July 28, 1967, and she survives.
He was a farmer and attended the Parkersburg United Methodist Church.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, William Eugene Combs, Belleville, and Ron A. Combs, Sr., Olney; eight daughters, Mrs. Don V. (Joyce) Lewis, Newton, Mrs. Joe (Freda) Payne, Joliet, Mrs. Rod (Katy) Gum, Salem, Ore., Mrs. William (Geraldine) Shroyer, Sailor Springs, Mrs. Terry (Sharon) Harper, Noble, Mrs. David (Sarah) Pampe, Olney, and Mrs. Garry (Ann) Lincold, Lutesville, Mo., and Mrs. Rex (Sandra) Cornwell, Olney; a daughter-in-law, Mrs, Regina Taylor, Noble; two brothers, Harry E. Combs, Evansville, Ind., and Charles Combs, Olney; two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Hawkins, Odin, and Mrs. Florence Morris, Carmi; 35 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, two brothers, three sisters and two grandchildren.
