    • Helen "Fern" Barbee, 92, of Louisville, IL, passed away at 7:10 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2015, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN.

      Fern was born on November 25, 1922 to Aley and Mattie (Eckle) Winchester. She married Victor Barbee on July 7, 1940. He preceded her in death on August 8, 2007. She was a homemaker and member of Red Brush Christian Church.

      Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Sproat and husband Keith, of Evansville, IN; Jean Bailey and husband Bill of Louisville, IL; a son, Robert "Bob" Barbee and wife Celeste of Princeton, IN; and one sister Lottie Fowler of Louisville, IL. Eight grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren survive.

      She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.

      A private funeral was held graveside on Monday, March 30, 2015 at Red Brush Cemetery.

      In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to Oil Belt Christian Service Camp in Flora, IL and will be received at the funeral home.
