  David I. LeFever, age 59, of Clay City, IL passed away Thursday, November 21, 2013 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL. David was born May 29, 1954 in San Diego, CA to Irving Velmore LeFever and Bertha (Smith) LeFever Thompson. He married Carol Poe on May 13, 1995 in Clay City. David worked in the oil fields most of his life and enjoyed reading, cooking, fishing, and tending to a vegetable garden. He loved his two dogs "The Boys". He is survived by his wife: Carol LeFever; four children: Charity, Amanda, Audrey, and James LeFever; his mother: Bertha Thompson; a sister: Helen (Ken) Markham; two brothers: Ted (Deb) Thompson and Rob (Vicki) Thompson; along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his fathers (Irving LeFever and Sam Thompson), two sons (Jason and Joshua LeFever), a daughter (Cara LeFever), and a sister (Karen Hunt). The funeral service for David LeFever was held at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Interment followed in Rusk Cemetery with military honors.
