  Doris June Leak, 86, of Flora, Illinois, died at 2:15 p.m., Sunday August 23, 2015 at Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Effingham, IL. Doris was born September 27, 1928, in Wayne County, to Alva and Audrey (Fatheree) Holman. She attended school until she reached the 8th grade, and like so many others during that time, she had to quit school to work to help provide and take care of her family. This always weighed heavy on her heart and when she was in her late sixties, she took the necessary steps to earn her G.E.D. She married Charles Robert Leak in Henderson, KY. He preceded her on June 8, 1996. Over the years Doris worked a couple different jobs. She worked for several years at Spartans, after which, she spent some time working in home health care. Her main job and duty was taking care of and raising her family. Doris loved to cook big family meals, where she could enjoy her children and grandchildren. When her grandchildren were in their younger years she spent many days taking care of them. This was one of her greatest joys in life. Doris is survived by son Ed Leak and wife Linda, daughter Janice Schofield , daughter Debra Leak, son Tom Leak and wife Pearl, sister Grace Petit, eighr grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Doris was preceded in death by her parents Alva and Audrey Holman and by her husband Charles Robert “Bob” Leak, one great-great grandchild and ten sisters and brothers. A graveside service will be at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Kneff Cemetery in Flora, IL.
