- Mrs. Stella McDowell, 87, Mt. Erie died at 8:10 p.m. Tuesday at the Fairfield Hospital.
Services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the West United Methodist Church near Mt. Erie with Revs. Larry Hopkins and Steven Palmer presiding. Visitation is after 12 p.m. Friday at the Church. Burial is in the Church Cemetery. Ingram Funeral Home in Albion is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. McDowell was born in Tompkinsville, Ky., on March 12, 1893, daughter of George and Nore (Chapman) Billingsley.
She married William McDowell on Oct. 31, 1916 in Wayne County. He preceded her in death on April 16, 1979.
She was a member of the West United Methodist Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Percy (Lillian) Borah and Mrs. Lyveere (Dorothy) Massie, both of Mt. Erie, and Mrs. Marcus (Naomi) Bunting, W. Branch, Mich.; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Smith, Burlington, Iowa, and Mrs. Elizabeth Baybs, Flora; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
