  Clifton McDowell, 69, highly respected and well-known resident of West Salem, Illinois passed away at his home on Monday afternoon. Funeral services in the Chapel of King & Ingram Funeral Home at West Salem with Bro. Homer Longbons in charge. The deceased is survived by his wife, Emily; three sons, Clayton, James and Richard, all of West Salem; and two daughters, Mrs. Pat Kitchene of Albion and Mrs. Ruth Ann Parker of Mt. Carmel; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a half-sister, Mrs. Hattie Thread of Bone Gap. Published in Olney Daily Mail (IL) - February 13, 1973
