- Obituary:
Ruby Caldwell, 78, formerly of Edgewood, passed away at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014, at Effingham Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Effingham.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pagel Funeral Home, Edgewood, with a one hour viewing prior to service time with Judy Poe officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Edgewood Cemetery.
She was born on Feb. 17, 1936, in Gilmore, the daughter of Louis and Violet (Landreth) Yingst. She married Thomas Wayne Caldwell on Dec. 21, 1956, in Edgewood. Ruby and her husband own and operated Edgewood Service Station for several years. She loved gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.
Ruby leaves behind her two sons, Emmett Caldwell (wife Mary) and Doug Caldwell (wife Kathy), both of Edgewood; two daugthers, Becky Beccue (husband Ron) of Edgewood, and Dorothy Moschenrose (husband Jim) of Watson; six brothers, James Yingst (wife Kay) of Farina, Victor Yingst (wife Debra) of Edgewood, Carl Yingst of Effingham, Robert Yingst (wife Sara) Farina, David Yingst (wife Christy) of Clay City, Glen Yingst (wife Diana) of Edgewood; four sisters, Maxine Wilson of Edgewood, Violet Lilly (husband Don) of Louisville, Ruth Ann Liska of Mason, and Fern Hays (husband Terry) of Mason; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas Wayne Caldwell; brother, Buddy Yingst; three sisters, Kathleen Maris, Betty Fancher and Emma Davis; and one great-grandson, Michael Caldwell.
