- Samuel R. Hilliard died at Memorial Hospital. He was admitted to the hospital July 5.
Samuel R., son of James and Jane Sweeney Hilliard, was born October 26, 1890, in Wayne County, IL.
He was married to Nettie Cook Nov. 20, 1910, with six children born to their union.
His wife died only May 31 this year, and two daughters also preceded him in death.
Mr. Hilliard was a member of the Rock Branch church and active in the affairs of that church.
Surviving are two sons, Dale and Donnie; two daughters, Mrs. Gene Lane and Mrs. Duane Pond; one brother, Perry Hilliard; a sister, Anna Pendley; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Rock Branch church with interment in the Cisne cemetery.
DeSelms Funeral Home was in charge.
