    • WILLIAM LOWELL SPARR, 82, of Cisne, IL passed away 7:30AM Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Fairfield Memorial Hospital.

      William Lowell was born October 2, 1931 in Cisne, IL to Fred and Bertha (Miller) Sparr. He never married.

      William Lowell was a retired farmer and formerly served thirty-six years as Elm River Township Road Commissioner.

      He was a veteran of the Korean conflict and a member of the Cisne American Legion, Enterprise United Methodist Church, Cisne; and Flora VFW.

      William Lowell is survived by one brother-in-law Harold (Mary) Holmes ; two step-sisters Shirley (Fred) Shelton and Peggy (David) Loehr; two step-brothers Larry (Jenny) Laird and Jerry (Cecilia). Six nieces and nephews – George (Ruth Ann) Holmes; David Holmes; John (Sharon) Bolen, and Debbie Bolen, Robin Bolen, and Billie Jo Bolen; several great and great-great nieces and nephews also survive.

      He was preceded in death by two sisters Rosalee Bolen and Anna Mae Holmes, his parents and step-mother Ellen Sparr.

      Funeral services for William Lowell Sparr was at Hosselton Funeral Home.

      Burial was in Evangelical Cemetery near Cisne, IL.

      There was a military service held at the cemetery.

      Memorials may be given to the Cisne American Legion.
