Notes - Larry E. "LL" Laird, 81, of Chebanse passed away on Monday, December 5, 2022 at his home. He was born on June 21, 1941 in Clay City, IL, the son of Raleigh E. and Marguerite E. (Brummett) Laird. He married Jenny Lynch in Glasgow, MT on November 6, 1965.
Surviving are his wife, Jenny Laird of Chebanse; three children, Larry "Scotty" Laird, Jennifer (James) Bauer of Chebanse, and Jarred (Laura) Laird of California; four grandchildren, Michael Laird-Gronsky, Laura Gronsky, Aaron Bauer, and Katelyn Laird; five great grandchildren, Alice, Cameron, Liam, Finley, and Rayden; two sisters, Shirley (Fred) Shelton of Clay City, IL and Peggy Laird Loehr of Cave in Rock, IL; and one brother, Jerry (Cecilia) Laird of Copperhill, TN.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Kirby Joe Laird; and great grandson, Jack Wedgbury.
Mr. Laird served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam. He worked at Quaker for many years until his retirement as an electrician. He later started a side business, LL Excavating where his slogan was "Your hole is my goal". He enjoyed big game hunting, cruising in his Corvette, and an avid golfer. Larry was a member of Chebanse American Legion Post #408.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Friday, December 16, 2022 at Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton.
Rev. Marsha Collins will officiate. Military rites will be provided by Chebanse American Legion Post #408.
Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 pm on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton.
Memorials may be made to Chebanse American Legion Post #408.
