- Georgia Lee Pollard, 91, of Fairview Heights, Il., born Sunday, July 21, 1929, in East St. Louis, Il., passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Il.
She was married to Charles Curtis Pollard Jr. on November 25, 1948. They enjoyed 68 years together before his death in 2016. Their last 20 years were spent in Valdosta, GA., where they had many wonderful friends.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Curtis Edward Pollard; her father, Russell Maxwell, her mother, Esther (nee Hemme) Maxwell Stemmley, and her beloved step-father, Lawrence Stemmley.
Surviving are her children, Amy (Jim) Bramstedt of Fairview Heights, Il., Michael (Susan) Pollard of Highland, Il., Marie (Jerry) Bramstedt of Kansas City, Mo., daughter-in-law, Patty Pollard of Belleville, Il. Surviving siblings are Lawrence J. Stemmley Jr. of Waterloo, Il., and Jenny Ann Copeland of Bland, Mo. Georgia was blessed with 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Georgia was the proud owner of Mode ODay womens clothing shop in Highland, Il., for many years. She enjoyed travel, spending time with her family and being active in the American Legion and VFW Auxiliary.
Georgia was an avid bird enthusiast.
