Selected for the Air Corps, completed basic training and qualified in the Military Occupational Specialty of Synthetic Trainer Operator. Served stateside with Squadron B, 2140th Army Air Force Base Unit, Pilot School, Smyrna Army Air Field, Tennessee. Earned The Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal and The WWII Victory Medal. Honorably discharged as a Sergeant on February 15, 1946 at The Separation Center, Camp Grant, Illinois.
