Notes - Anton C. Volk, 84, Ingraham, died at 3 a.m. Thursday in the Olney Care Center.
Services will be in the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Wendelin with Rev. Father Bernard Goedde presiding. Visitation will be in the Summers Funeral Home. The Holy Rosary will be recited and the Olney Council of Knights of Columbus will attend as a group. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Mr. Volk was born May 19, 1897 in Jasper County, the son of Anton and Philomena (Rauch) Volk.
He married Catherine Kuenstler April 12, 1921 and she preceded him in death Nov. 15, 1980.
He was a farmer and a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.
Survivors include three sons, Donald, Ingraham; Louis, Claremont; and Anton, Washington; three daughters, Sister Loretta of St. Ignatius Parish, Hecker; Sister Mary Antoinette of St. Ignatius Parish in Chicago; and Ethel Zwilling, Claremont; two sisters, Agatha Mundy, Bement; and Minnie Kocher, Newton; 31 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a son, Virgil, who was killed in the Korean Conflict; a grandchild; four sisters; and four brothers.
