    • Raymond "Ray" L. Hinterscher Sr., age 75 Of Dieterich, IL passed away at 5:05 PM Monday, April 2, 2012 at Evergreen Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Effingham, IL.

      Ray was born on January 9, 1937 in Clay County, IL the son of Lawrence and Gwendolyn (Ash) Hinterscher. He married Betty Price on August 31, 1960 in Lerna, IL and she survives.

      Ray was a history teacher and taught school at Montrose and Dieterich for 35 years. He was a member of the Ingraham Christian Church. Ray was an outdoorsman that enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events.

      Ray is survived by:Wife of 51 years – Betty Hinterscher of Dieterich, IL 3 Children – Ray Hinterscher, Jr., Eugene Hinterscher, Penny Phipps, 5 Grandchildren – Benjamin Phipps, Courtney Phipps, Cody Hinterscher, Dalton Hinterscher and Katie Hinterscher.

      Ray was preceded in death by his parents and a half brother, Charles Hinterscher.

      Services celebrating Ray's life will be held on 10:00 AM Friday, April 6, 2012 at the Ingraham Christian Church in Ingraham, IL.

      Private burial will be in the Hinterscher Family Cemetery in rural Ingraham, IL following the service.

      Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at the Blake-Wright Funeral Home in Dieterich, IL.

      There will also be visitation ½ hour before the service in the church.
