Notes - Carrol Lee Frutiger, 91, of Clay City, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at Clay County Hospital.
Carrol was born on October 3, 1932 in Clay County, Illinois, the son of Everett and Vida (Clinton) Frutiger. He married Helen (Williamson) on February 4, 1956 at Bethel Church in Richland County, Illinois, and she survives.
Carrol was a farmer first and primarily. He later began his position as a Clay City School bus driver for 20 years, and he was a Clay County 4-H leader for 19 years. He also had a passion for tractors and antique tractors.
Carrol is survived by his wife of 67 years, Helen, of Clay City; daughter, Debra (Tim) Galloway, of Millersburg, IN; son, Farron (Donna) Frutiger of Louisville, IL; son, Dennis (Paula) Frutiger Xenia, IL; son, Troy (Sara) Frutiger of Clay City, IL; 17 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one great grandson, Bodey Galloway.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Clay City, with a visitation will beginning at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Interment will follow the service at Smith Cemetery in rural Clay City, with full Military Rites to be performed at the cemetery by Clay City Sailor Springs American Legion Post #230.
Memorials can be made to Clay City Sailor Springs American Legion Post #230, Smith Cemetery, or Bethlehem Christian Church in Clay City.
