- The passing of Mr. Schwaeble just about marks the end of an era in the community. He was a truck gardener of high ability who regularly made his rounds in Highland for many years, driving his horse and cart from his farm in St Morgan to Highland, ringing his bell as he drove up and down the residential streets while shouting his produce specials for the day.
He had been a patient at the Alton State Hospital the last 15 months of his life.
